Nate was raised on a mixed livestock and crop farm in south central Kansas near Pratt, where he and wife Ashley still maintain a small cow herd today. Nathan was active in 4-H and enjoyed working with livestock on the family operation throughout high school. This passion for agriculture drove Nathan to attend Kansas State University majoring in Animal Science with an emphasis in production management. Nate returned home after graduation from Kansas State in 2013 to help manage the family farm.
In addition to managing the family farm, Nathan assisted American Simmental with field services in Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma. In 2018, Nathan had the opportunity to work for the North American Limousin Foundation as a regional manager for the eastern United States and Canada territory. He assisted NALF members and commercial producers in identifying herd goals, learning new programs and services while growing their businesses. This opportunity opened a door for Nate to transition into a position with Neogen Geneseek as a territory manager for the four corner states: Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah. Primary focus in this role was to assist in DNA collection and provide genetic consultation services to seedstock and commercial producers alike.
